Position Overview

The Director of Marketing & Communications for the LLEDC is responsible for marketing, communications, planning and implementation for recruitment of prospective companies to Springfield & Sangamon County area. In addition, this role will partner with the President & CEO of the LLEDC to continuously improve the image and perception of the local area. 

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage LLEDC’s marketing efforts to increase community exposure to global corporate executives, site selection professionals and potential workforce.

  • Manage the LLEDC website including but not limited to; oversight of the implementation of a new website, updating and creating new web content, generate increased views of the newly developed web site for new and repeat visitors, and help influence user time spent on website. 

  • Manage social media campaigns promoting the Springfield & Sangamon community by developing new and relevant content promoting the community.

  • Help prepare presentations, reports and informational material for prospective executives and site professionals

  • Respond to and complete requests for information regarding the local area.

  • Manage media and public relations and external communications including investor communications, e-newsletter for interested parties, community presentations and other reporting requirements.

  • Develop marketing material that includes reports, presentations and site-specific pieces.

  • Lead, coordinate and direct special events and public outreach programs.

  • Maintain LLEDC brand standards, content management, marketing assets and collateral to ensure a consistent messaging from the organization. 

  • Perform and execute special projects as assigned by the President & CEO of LLEDC.

 

Core Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Relevant business-related course work and work experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Basic graphic design and previous experience working with a web content management system

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Work, Excel and PowerPoint and design software

  • Experience designing and implementing marketing materials
